Emma Burns joined the KLTV news team in 2025 as a multimedia journalist.
Emma is an East Texas native who grew up in Texarkana, Texas. After graduating from Texas High School in 2022, she attended the University of North Texas to pursue a degree in Converged Broadcast Media.
Since Emma was 14, she had a deep passion for journalism and empowering her local community through storytelling. She has traveled the country from Washington D.C. to Southern California to tell the stories from those communities. During her time in college, she continued to pursue that passion as a reporter and anchor for North Texas Television. Her senior year, she became the Assignments Manager for the station. Throughout the years, Emma has won various awards for her work, as well as a nomination for a Lone Star Emmy Student Production Award for her reporting. After graduating from UNT in May 2025, Emma knew that she had to return to the piney woods to start her career.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys golfing, antiquing, and spending time with her cats Blue and Tex.
