Emily Edwards

Emily was born and raised in the Gulf Coast region of Texas. She studied meteorology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, where she discovered her passion for weather research. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work with the DHS Coastal Resilience Center, researching parametric equations of outer-core tropical cyclone winds.

After her graduation in 2022, Emily headed to Texas Tech University to pursue her master’s degree. While there, she taught introductory atmospheric science courses and conducted research on aerosols and air quality. Her thesis focused on long-term PM10 and PM2.5 concentrations in Phoenix, Arizona.

She graduated from Texas Tech in August 2024, before joining the KLTV/KTRE team as a meteorologist.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys reading, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and three cats.
